Immortality- perpetual life after death
Mummification- embalmment and drying a dead body and wrapping it as a mummy
1. In what parts of the world have mummies been found?
3. How did ancient Egypt preserve their dead?
They buried their dead in a curled up position in the hot sand in the desert, and the sand preserved the bodies.
4. Why do you think ancient Egyptians took such care to embalm their dead if the desert could do the job for them?
Maybe because they knew they would come back to like.
5. What features of the natural environment can cause bodies to be mummified unintentionally?
The weather
6. According to current scientific beliefs, what are some reasons people were intentionally mummified?
Maybe because of punishment, or because their gods have told them too.

Unit Reflection, Mesopotamia the fertile crescent
The domestication of plants and animals.
The people of hitties domesticated animals in many ways. They some times killed them for shelter, cloth, and more.
The transition from hunter-gatherer communities to the first civilizations.
most of them where hunters. they hunted for food, animals for domestication and so on.
Early religion and beliefs.
The hittes believed in more than one god. I think they had more than 100,000 gods.
If someone would tell me that the Sumerian aren't important, i would say that they are. The Sumerian had build and continued our language and religion. They have improved our knowledge, and our tools. Our houses have become bigger and stronger. They have thought us to believe in gods or a good, so i think they are important.

How have people today changed their environment?
GOOD
Fire was one way that early humans changed their environment. Fire was a good way to drive animals into places where they could be killed for food and skins. Humans now use fertilizer for plants so there plants could grow better. Humans have had the ability to change the environment for thousands of years. This is because there are more people on earth than there use to be.
BAD
The fire also caused a lot of damage. Many or some people dye because of fire. fire is not good if its around a farming place, it will just kill all your crops. Fire has destroyed a lot of homes and lives.

Catal Huyuk
Why is Catal Hoyuk an important archaeological find?
Catal Hoyuk was discovered in the 1950s, and excavated by James Mellaart. The excavation has a long time. As we know they have still not excavated everything yet. As the researchers and excavators searched more for lost objects, they found paintings, of people dancing, and hunting. Most of them are painted in red.
The excavators found out that the dead people where buried right underneath the houses. There are still theories about if it smelled bad or not. There is a statue, which was named the Calal Huyuk statue.
Many things where made out of clay, stone and some where pottery too.
